Help on issues you run into with LapTimer; in case you have a question on how to use LapTimer, use the forum "Using LapTimer" instead

Exporting video from a lap "crashes" video viewing on iPhone

Post by Modena_ »

When I edit a lap and sync up a video (say from a gopro), then I "export" the video inside LT, it exports to camera roll ok, but then I cannot view any videos on the iphone - if I click on one (ANY video in camera roll) it will show the first frame and just sit there with a spinner in the middle of the screen. If I reboot the phone, it comes back and I can view videos again (including my LT Exported video).

This happens EVERY time I do a LT video export. Is this known behaviour?

This is on an iPhone 16 Pro iOS 18.4.1

I see this is also discussed here: viewtopic.php?t=3597

This is a known problem which occurs for certain phones and phone configurations. Although we tried to reproduce this behavior for our test devices, we never succeeded. So until we can get our hands on a device with this problem, you need to go through this workaround with a reboot. Hint: in case you do not want to distribute the video, an export is not required. LapTimer displays videos with overlays in real time using the Play button (next to Export).
