Hello,
I am trying to use lap timer with my bicylce on smaller roads around my house, where I have lots of overlapping track configurations. Lap Timer permanently seems to automatically switch back and forth between tracks. Is there a way to disable this automatic track switching and have it just react to the triggers that belong to the currently active track?
Thanks,
Tobias
Disable automatic track change?
Re: Disable automatic track change?
That is how LapTimer is designed. You (almost) never select a track but leave this decision to LapTimer. This allows it to load tracks you drive regularly and reduces the risk of a wrong setting (leading to missed laps). While this is optimal for maybe 90% of the users, it is not for users driving one track in different configurations. These users simply load the configuration they drive next using Load Track. LapTimer will detect a conflict and recommend to purge conflicting Track Sets.
What remains are users with conflicting track sets not stored in our database
So for you it is best to backup your track sets using LapTimer ‣ Lap List ‣ any track section ‣ first row showing "User Defined Track Set" ‣ Certify. Send the export generated to yourself (instead of Tracks@gps-laptimer.de) and keep this exports in your mailbox. Now, if you want to change to a specific configuration, open the corresponding mail, and import the attachment (tap it and select LapTimer). When asked, confirm you want to purge conflicting track sets.
NB: conflicting track sets are bad, they can confuse LapTimer and make recording fail completely.

Re: Disable automatic track change?
Thanks for the quick reply!
What you describe sounds like a rather cumbersome workaround though. I guess I'll just limit taking time to a single track configuration then.
Any chance you'll be adding a "disable automatic track switching" setting?

Re: Disable automatic track change?
I have an "in-activate track" request on my list - which is probably a better solution than allowing a complete switch of concept by a setting. It isn't scheduled yet.

Alright, I'll stay tuned then.
