Re: Race Box Mini S - Android - No GNSS / GPS Data

I reimplemented the RaceBox Integration based on their API documentation and added Micro support. Actually I found several issues with the original integration, operation should be very stable with the new one. During testing, I discovered regular disconnects / timeouts in case the BT signal has bee...

Re: Positional accuracy and missed trigger points

Smartphones use triangulation of WiFi and mobile networks to get a rough position in case GPS / GNSS is not available. While this is o.k. for many applications, it cannot be used for data recording apps like LapTimer. Both accuracy and update rates are far beyond what is required to e.g. detect pass...

For phones suffering from this problem, a reboot is required. Afterwards, everything should be fine. This known problem really occurs only for certain i...

Re: Buttonwillow Circuit Track Question

Please check if you look at "Nearby" tracks or have switched the filter to "All". While at home, Buttonwillow may be filtered with "Nearby" selected. But it will appear once you goto the track. I'm sorry for the late reply.

Re: App ruckelt alle paar Sekunden Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Hallo,

die Kachel-Ansicht (also Auswahl der Ansicht) flackert beim Aufbau - das ist ein bekanntes Problem der Android Version. Ansichten wie Timer, GPS etc. dürfen aber nicht ruckeln / flackern.

Re: Positional accuracy and missed trigger points

Not to my knowledge. But it is clear that missing updates for that long can lead to missed triggers. As you get 10 Hz otherwise, it looks like either the connection is lost (and reconnected after 4s) completely, the device stops sending updates, or the Bluetooth connection is disturbed by some other...

Re: RaceBox micro support

Thanks for providing this information. Although the RaceBox guys stopped supporting us, I will try get the Micro working for the Spring release. Without access to an actual device, I will not be able to test it physically, but I can do some theoretic checking against their documentation.

Re: Database Backup not working

It is getting exported from a binary format to ASCII and is compressed afterwards. So a sizing from the 5 MB isn't possible. However, 26 laps are far from any limit and will not be the issue here. So I suggest you use file sharing instead of a mail based backup. A backup is actually an export of all...
