Re: (Temporary) drop of support for TomTom car kit

Hello everybody, Good news for TomTom users. :-) TomTom came back to me today. They will authorize access to their NMEA interface. I have no final timeline, and I certainly need to release a new version of LapTimer to enable the direct access again. Not sure there will be an additional 14.4.3 that a...

Re: Video Auto-Focus issue with iOS5

Hi Richard, That's a known problem introduced in iOS5. My experience is it still works pretty well on track - at least as long as you do not have a car directly in front of you. In-town traffic generates a lot of refocussing, disturbing the LapTimer pleasure a lot :-) This is the reason LapTimer v15...

Re: Dual XGPS150 support

That will work both with 14.4.1 and with the upcoming 14.4.2. The whole 14.4.1 testing has been done with a firmware beta.

Re: Questions on creating a track set...

Aaron, The answer to your question depends on your track's layout. In case your track is cyclic, i.e. has a common start and end (like most tracks), you need exactly one stop/go trigger - exactly on the start / finish line. Do not add any more triggers, don't use standing start triggers here. POIs h...

Re: OBD Update Rates with KiwiWifi

I assume it is both, CAN direct access, and wireless vs. wired. The later adds quite some latency for each ping / pong.

Re: Optrix VideoPro available

Hi, As soon as you connect the Emprum, it will deliver GPS data to VideoPro - replacing the information from the internal GPS. There is no special support however (compare direct access of NMEA devices with LapTimer) built into VideoPro. I'm in the process of adding this, and it will be available in...

Re: OBD Update Rates with KiwiWifi

Hi, The Kiwi is a little slower than e.g. the OBDLink. That is not in the range you name, so this is not reason for your observation. The update rate depends a lot on the implementation of the car's bus. For Porsches, the update rates have increased significantly since the beginning of their CAN imp...
