Hi Harry,
I am still struggling with the inability to access videos saved to my external SD card in Android\Data\com.harrys.laptimerpro\files\movies because several years ago Android has decided that is protected storage and user's can't access with a USB connection from a PC. This makes it very cumbersome to have to process video, requiring users to turn the phone off, remove the SD card, plug the SD card into a reader, then access the files from my PC, then insert the SD card back in the phone, reboot, etc. Stupid.
We aren't going to change Android's practice, so please, can you change the location where videos are saved to \Movies. This is unprotected storage and can be accessed from a PC without all the gymnastics above.
Galaxy A50, GoPro Hero 7 Black.
Thanks much!
Doug

Re: SD Card Storage Still an Issue
Thanks for the feedback. Actually Android removed access to non-app specific / public SD card folders some version ago... I will check if /Movies is open (again) and consider this.

Re: SD Card Storage Still an Issue
Hello, I have the same problem and I bought the highest grand prix version so I can overlay the viedos and lap tracking together. Now I am not possible to even download it. Could you please fix it, or let me know what should I do? as I have an integrated memory and cannot work with external SD card?
Thank you,
Samuel.
Thank you,
Samuel.

Please insert the SD card and make sure it is accessible in Android in general.Samuell32 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 5:10 pm Hello, I have the same problem and I bought the highest grand prix version so I can overlay the viedos and lap tracking together. Next, restart(!) LapTimer so it rescans video storage options.
Head to Analysis ‣ Videos and check if the SD card is listed as a separate section.
In case it is and it has more free memory than the internal / emulated SD card, LapTimer will use it to store new videos.

Hello Harry,
thank you for your answer, unfortunately it is not helpful. I do not have possibility to insert SD card to my smartphone. I only have the integrated memory. Any thoughts? I really do not know what to do...

Re: SD Card Storage Still an Issue
I'm sorry, I answered a different post.
Please describe what you actually want to do. Do you have videos recorded and do not know how to make them accessible in LapTimer? Please provide the complete system configuration you use.

Re: SD Card Storage Still an Issue
No problem
Let's finish this, I will try to describe all you need:
1. I did some racing on Nürburgring and Hockenheim ring. I have done videos as well and would like to download the video from smarthome and use it as a front camera for my YT channel -> when I connect smartphone to a PC, I do not see the videos
2. I would like to overlap lap timer with the video from Gopro 11 black -> the same problem, I cannot add any video from Gopro because I do not see them in lap timer
Complete system config here:
Smartphone: PC:
Windows 10
If you need something else, please specify it and I will provide. Thank you.

Re: SD Card Storage Still an Issue
For both operations, you need to use the share function:
- in case you can't copy files to the locations listed in Analysis ‣ Video because of missing permissions, you can copy the video into any app on your smartphone supporting the file transfer; next, select the file in this app and press the share / open button; select LapTimer from the list of apps shown; this will copy the file to one of the locations LapTimer can access
- to share a video overlaid in LapTimer, select the file in LapTimer and select the Share button; select any of the apps shown (Google Drive, youtube etc)
