I have Dual GPS working around 5 Hz. I have OBDLink Wifi I just received. Wifi does not like hooking up to iphone 4s and does not remain connected long when it does connect. Best I get is on a for about a second, then off for 1 or 2 seconds. I am not sure what all the settings should be. Could you please post all appropriate settings for this combination. I set OBDLink to 169.254.1.10 Port 23 per OBDLink instructions, but I am not sure this is correct. I am guessing at this point...
I have no idea where all the data should go. It does work, but not correctly. Please discuss apple iphone settings if needed as well.
I do have success talking to windows 7 computer thru wifi, but it still drops. Thanks for the help. Your product is truely amazing.

Re: Please help with OBDLink Wifi settings
I'm running into the same problem. iPhone 4S.
Re: Please help with OBDLink Wifi settings
Without having an OBDLink manual / device available, here are some clarifications that hopefully help:
The OBDLink has the IP 169.254.1.10 and listens on port 23. This numbers are not configured from your side in any place, they are configured within LapTimer already. This IP / port addresses are similar to a postal address - if you know them, you know how to get there. As stated above, LapTimer is aware of the address already and will try to connect it.
What you actually need to do is setting up the wifi network between the iPhone and the OBDLink [in your iPhone's wifi settings]. Once you have the OBDLink connected and powered on, you should be able to join the ad hoc network it creates with then name "scantool.net". It seems you do not need to configure anything here - just make sure you are connected to the network (blue checkmark to the let of "scantool.net", and the wifi icon in the status bar).
Here is a description I have googled:

Here is a description I have googled:
- Plug the OBDII hardware into the vehicle and start the vehicle. The OBDLink has a status light that confirms it is powered. Is the light coming on?
- In the iPhone Wifi settings, You should see the Scantool network. This should be configured for DHCP.
- Connect to this network. Do not enter [LapTimer], until you have confirmed that the iPhone is receiving a signal from the network.
- Once you are receiving a signal from the network, start up [LapTimer, check the Sensors List to watch the connection process].
- If you are unable to connect, and [LapTimer doesn't show the OBDLink in the Sensor List] then return to the iPhone settings. Confirm that you are still connected to the Scantool network, and that you are still receiving a signal from it.
Re: Please help with OBDLink Wifi settings
Thanks for the reply. That's how I'm setting it up. Though, interestingly enough, because it's a ad hoc network the iPhone won't display the WiFi bars in the status bar since it can't connect to the internet. But, if you look at the wifi connection info you'll see that the iPhone got a DHCP address from the OBDLink and is connected with the check box. Plus, I can connect to the OBDLink from my windows laptop just fine and read data off it so I'm pretty sure it's not the OBDLink.
I think that next I'm going to have to try turning off cellular data. Maybe this is a routing issue going on with the phone where it's trying to route the connection to the OBDLink through the cellular connection. *shrug*

Re: Please help with OBDLink Wifi settings
Any update on this from the original posters? I've been experimenting with an OBDLink WiFi, and also see dropouts in OBD data.
In my case they are probably 10 seconds or more apart, and the dropouts are only brief (<2 seconds) before resumption of data. Unfortunately the short time of dropout makes it difficult to check if it's WiFi or LapTimer dropping the connection.
When connecting over WiFi from a laptop I don't see the same kind of dropouts.

Re: Please help with OBDLink Wifi settings
Yes any update on this from original posters? I to am having this issue, my WLAN wifi OBD is not connecting to the laptimer app. I can see the wifi signal through my iphones settings but not through the laptimer app.
In the settings on harrys app, I have the Custom host and custom port set to the specs on the WLAN wifi adaptor.
Not sure if its an issue with the laptimer app or the iphone wifi interface.
Any tips would be appriciated
