Focus Lock by Default

I use the internal camera on my iPhone and would like to set it to automatically focus on "infinity" (the same way that a GoPro does) without remembering to set it before each video. Is there any way to do this? I've checked the docs and fiddled around a bit but don't seem to be able to find one.

LapTimer asks the cam to go for infinity already. The problem is this is considered a hint by iOS and not real setting. So an actual one time focussing is required currently.

P.S. The HERO does not "go to infinity" but has not focussing at all.
