I recently purchased the Petrolhead edition lap timer and a go pro hero 4. I went to test out the application to make sure everything works, but for some reason, the app will not connect to my go pro, or even display any video on screen.
When I try to just record off of the phone itself, it says "You have declined access to the camera for LapTimer. Video recording is not possible currently. Please enable access in Setting app > Privacy > Camera."
However, I was never asked about allowing access for the camera when starting the app. I tried deleting the app and re-downloading to see if the option would present itself, but it didn't. I attempted to find this setting, but there is no "Privacy" section under "Settings" in the app.
Next I tried connecting it to my GoPro, but it said I needed to upgrade to the Grand Prix version in order to utilize that feature. I was under the impression that I could use the GoPro in the Petrolhead edition, but I went ahead and purchased the upgrade. When I go to try and select the camera to use, I get the same "You have declined access" error message.
Anybody have any idea on how to fix this? First track event is on Friday, and I'm trying to get everything squared away before then.

Re: Will not connect to camera/display video
Two unrelated topics.
1) iOS restricts access to critical resources - which is the reason the user is prompted to grant permissions. You can change permissions after the fact by starting the Settings app and change permission in the apps section / LapTimer.
2) GoPro remote controlling is a GP feature. One can add videos recorded manually to Petrolhead, but there is no connecting or remote controlling. You can read about this items in detail in Video Documentation (see Documentation section on www.gps-laptimer.de)

Re: Will not connect to camera/display video
Ok. I managed to get the camera permission figured out.
I'll look into it further as far as getting the camera sorted.
