Overlay Question

Post by foolio »

I don't know if iOS has changed in the past few weeks, but, I have encountered an issue.

I am recording only external videos with my GoPro. In the past, I would transfer the GoPro files to my MacBook and then sync the video back to my iPhone for overlay. However, after doing this today, the video is no longer showing up in my Photos app on the phone, it is showing up in the Videos app as a Home Video. I don't think HLT is recognizing this that as a location to find a video when I want to re-link. Am I doing something wrong? I think I have followed the same steps as before but the outcome seems to be different.
Thanks.

Not sure it has changed in iOS but it sounds more like an issue with your synchronization settings in iTunes. Make sure you tick the "Include Videos" switch in the Photo(!) sync tab to get videos transferred to Photos. The Video library cannot be accessed by 3rd party apps. As an alternative, use the File Sharing approach as described in Video Documentation available from www.gps-laptimer.de/documentation. I prefer it because you have a better control what is going on.

I have not checked your suggestion yet. One reason I'm reluctant to have it sync videos with my photos is I don't want all of them on my MacBook to go to my phone. I will have a look at the documentation as you suggested. However, I will also mention that I got it to work by using AirDrop. That put the video into my photos app. Thank you for your response.
