Using GoPro question

Hello.
New user here.
I have a GoPro that I will link to lap timer. I can get it linked up to lap timer no problem.
My question is can I only record video using my GoPro? I seem to be able to only get the GoPro to record if the camera on the phone is also recording.
I want to record a 2h session and don't want to record video on my phone. I only want video from my GoPro to record.

This feature will get available for LapTimer v20 (Spring 2016). For v19 the internal video is mandatory. To reduce memory consumption, switch it to SD and purge the file after each session. Currently, that's the best work around.
