Harry, hlt crashed, said the db was corrupt, I answered 'yes' to fixing it and now all my laps, car, and id are gone. I don't have a backup of this weekend yet and don't want to lose this stuff. To complicate things I reentered car and track data and ran session with the new blank db.

Some system and configuration information would be helpful.

The general approach to restore your data (in case you do not have a recent .hlptrl export is available), is described in
viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2626
The problem for LapTimer's Android implementation is Android does not allow access to the app's data area (named Documents in the FAQ).
So as long as your device isn't rooted, this approach to restore data is blocked.
But the good news is most of your recordings will probably be available for a later restore at some time:
I have some solution to access Android automatic backups for v20 (LapTimer 2016 Spring release).
Please do not delete the app until this solution is becoming available, this would delete automatic backups too.

So I can't get the old stuff back until the next version?

Yes, except you root your device.

Rooting is not an issue. I'm assuming it's to get to the folder where the db is located?

Exactly. The structure in this folder is exactly the one described in the iOS specific link above.

OK, assuming I don't blow it up during the root that's what I'll do. Thanks

OK, root successful (what a pain rooting old phones) and I've found all the recovery directories, copying them to an sd card just to have another copy. I think I know what caused this - ever since a couple updates ago at the end of a session and I stop the HLT session, the device will stop recording on the gopro 3 but won't allow me to shut off the power to the camera. If I do, the camera powers back up no matter how many times I turn it off. The only way I can keep the camera off is to do a Force Stop on the app - still powers back up even if I "exit" of of it. Ideas?
