Saving video to OTG USB

Post by taiping »

Is there anyway that I can save the recorded data/video onto an external USB drive/SD card instead of the device's storage? If so, how can I choose where to save all the files?

When scanning potential media storage locations (like external SD cards), LapTimer mostly relies on some Android system settings to identify and verify candidates. In case this locations are found an verified, they appear in Video List as sections.

So whether the OTG USB is recognized or not depends on a proper configuration done when the USB device is mounted. I have no experience with this, but adding support would not be too difficult.

It is pretty technical, but can you try to find out in which directory the USB OTG card is mounted? Something like /sdcard/usbStorage? Try e.g. ES File Explorer to check if the USB drive is available in general and maybe find out this.

Once this is done, you need to follow the instructions in viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1933 to understand which configurations are provided by your system and what needs to be tweaked to add it to the list. Please enable the Video tracing class only when creating the log!

Sorry to send you back with home work, but that is the fastest way you can get support for this feature ;-9
