Problems with iOS8 or iPhone6

Post by irvandriel »

Hi Guys
I've looked around and seen a few posts on problems with iOS8 and perhaps iPhone 6 but I want dot get some feed back on particular issues I am having.
I recently upgraded to iPhone6 and iOS8 from iPhone 4S and iOS7. With the 4S I was using the TomTom cradle.
As others have found I am having trouble with Bluetooth detection in the iPhone6 but don't know if its iOS8 or the phone. Other devices see the phone and can pair with it but the phone does not discover other devices. I have just ordered the xgps160 and I am concerned that the 6 will not discover it. Anyone else had such issues.
Secondly, I'd like to send my laps to my iPad for analysis. So far following the instructions I have not been able to send any files, i.e. the iPad does not seem to get a 'message' from the phone and times out. The phone just sits there saying its 'searching'.
Thanks
Ian

Which BT device do you try to pair?
No known issue with BT device and the latest iOS8 version here, I believe this has been with some early iOS8 releases...
To transfer laps from device to device, both need to run the latest version of LapTimer. The protocol used for transfer has been changed lately. Make sure you both send laps from one device and enable receiving files on the other. Connection making takes some time... If it doesn't work, use mail export and send the mail to an email account you can read in the new phone. Touch the attachment and select LapTimer once the mail arrives.

OK, my xgps arrived today and pairs easily, so no problem after all. So I'm up and running with my larger screen, very helpful of my failing eyesight.
Still can't get transfer to work following instructions. But I'll use either email or dropbox.
Thanks for your help!
