Video button will not appear

I used the Grand Prix version successfully for a couple of years. Plenty of good video recordings. However, the last three times I've been to the track, I have been unable to initiate video recording. I can see the greyed-out camera icon with the red x at the top of the timer screen but the video button, itself, never appears. I've read through the documentation til I'm blue in the face and can't get a clue as to what I'm doing wrong. Please help.
PS--last time I was at the track, a friend told me that he has had the same trouble and ultimately just bought an alternative system. I don't want another system. I want this to work but am quite frustrated.

In Timer View, rotate to landscape (video) orientation and wait until the tab bar has moved out. Now, you will see the Video button.

This is the very process that is not working for me. I tried again. Nothing.
Set up a new track in my neighborhood. Timing works fine. GPS working fine. Dual auxiliary working fine. No video icon showing up.

Do you see any buttons at the bottom of the screen, specifically REF Set and Guide? Does the tab bar go away or is there a downward pointing arrow above the tab bar? If so, go to settings and turn 'hide the tab bar' on or touch the arrow to lower the tab bar manually.

That did it.
Thanks, Harry. I suggest some notes in the instructions for those of us who get caught in loops like this.

I will most probably add the button to the portrait view again. Too many users run into this trap - and adding docs doesn't help too much mostly...
