I backed up my data via email and now I am trying to load it on my new iphone but it does not give me the "Open with" option. I have the .hlptrz file with me.
Any help to get my data back will be greatly appreciated.
Data recovery from backup
Re: Data recovery from backup
O.k., you see the attachment with .hlptrz extension in an email? Is the attachment downloaded already? Is LapTimer installed (and probably started at least once)? As an alternative to touching the attachment, try a long press until you get the list of all apps who think they can open .hlptrzfarhadh02 wrote:I backed up my data via email and now I am trying to load it on my new iphone but it does not give me the "Open with" option. Re: Data recovery from backup
Thank you. Actually its a problem with the Gmail app on iPhone. When I sent the file through another app it worked. When using Gmail it does not give the option of "Open with".Harry wrote:O.k., you see the attachment with .hlptrz extension in an email? Is the attachment downloaded already? Re: Data recovery from backup
Ok, in case you have solved the problem, that's fine. Another alternative is using DropBox, it launches apps depending on their extension (and content?) pretty well.

Re: Data recovery from backup
When you want to recover deleted files from iPhone, you are not allowed to connect your iPhone to computer directly, because iTunes will save the recent data automatically. First of all, you should check whether you have the backup files
iTunes> preferences> devices
all your backup files are listed.
Then click iTunes>preferences> devices "prevent iPhone from syncing automatically." select OK and close the window after checking" don't sync"
Now you can connect iPhone to PC and make the iPhone data recovery based on you have the backup files.
Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up.
iTunes> preferences> devices
all your backup files are listed.
Then click iTunes>preferences> devices "prevent iPhone from syncing automatically." select OK and close the window after checking" don't sync"

Click the File menu and select Devices > Restore from Back up.
Re: Data recovery from backup
I made a backup om my data and after that deleted some laps I thaught I wouldn´t need anymore.. Then deleted one too much and tred to recover the backup. Opened the *.hlptrz file and the app asked if I wanted to import it. I chose "Yes, continue"
next the app starts importing...
... and then the app closes..
When I try to start it again I can see that it is checking the databases for a short while but then the app closes again.
What to do? I have the latest version of the app (20.0.0) and an old iphone 4 with iOS 9.3.1
next the app starts importing...
... and then the app closes..

Re: Data recovery from backup
Hi Harry,
I made a backup on 13th of July, because I had to take my phone (android) to service. They gave me other device, and I installed your app and I was able to recover all the information from backup, BUT - I just got my previous device back, and I can not make the backup...
I find the file, and open it with your app, than it says - File 'LapTimer-All-20160713-.....hlptrz' ready for import. Are you sure you want to continue?
I press YES, and than:
Import of file "LapTimer.....' failed. Data has not been added.
I have very VERY important laps there, please help me to recover it, I have to work with this info.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Data recovery from backup
In case you are on Android 6 or later, please add Storage permissions for LapTimer in Android's Settings app.oooinzn wrote:when I did as you suggested, there is no available app to open the .hlptrz file.Harry wrote: O.k., you see the attachment with .hlptrz extension in an email?
