Video res settings?

Post by froggy47 »

I have a yellow warning that video is set to low res. Go to settings to chg?

Phone settings?
HLT settings?
If HLT settings, where are they, I can't find them?
Thanks!

Update, ckd with Motorola moto x, there is no setting resolution, so it must be in HLT.

Still looking.

BTW I got no sound, sound works 100% ok on all other video shot with the phone, nothing has to be adjusted.
Do I need to tell HLT to use the built in mics every time I use it? How?

[Moved to "Using LapTimer"]

There are actually two options to switch resolution:

1) Simply tap the SD / HD / FullHD button in the video view
2) Select one of the options in LapTimer -> Settings -> Video -> Resolution

For 2), please keep in mind this is a generic list of resolutions and your smartphone may switch to a "best match" in case the respective resolution is not available. Furthermore, I recommend to use HD (and not FullHD) as the Android version is limited to 2 GB videos currently (and FullHD will require more than double the space compared to HD).

For audio, please make sure you have not turned off the internal mic accidentally. The setting is available in LapTimer Video View -> Tool Button. In case External Mic is in OFF already, please check your Android settings / speaker / mic covered etc. The above switch is the only place you can influence audio within LapTimer.

For #1 I can't find settings I must be senile. When I turn it on my choices are:

Define user
load track
autox
new track
help
start driving

Nothing about settings

If I hit upper right "menu"

timer
gps
lap list
add-ons
online
map

nothing about settings

lost????

Thanks

For # 2 it says "external mic off". As for the phone the audio records flawlessly with all other videos I do not using hlt. Do you think this is a bug & I need to turn external mic :ON" for android?

Once you have this, just scroll down - there is more ;-)

There were quite some videos recorded already and this has not been reported before ;-) It is either an incompatibility with your device or you have some special settings...

For #1, omg such an idiot, thanks.

For #2, I will see if motorola will even respond to me re: the internal mics (there are 3), meanwhile I am SOL on audio?

Maybe just post your exact model so other users with this device can check. I doubt you will find someone from any manufacturer who will be able or willing to dig deeper into this topic.

Started a new thread.

Would you think it might be useful user interface to add

when a drop down list has more items (for dummies like me)

That's a difficult topic. Providing a More entry or not should be part of the style guide and elements provided by the operating system (here Android). I agree it is easy to miss these scrolling list in Android, it is not a perfect interface design. Once you start adding elements like this on app level, any update of the OS may break or duplicate this function and a huge amount of maintenance work is the result.

Btw. when opening the drop down, you will see a scrollbar in the top right shortly. Need to check if it is possible to keep it as an indicator.
