iPhone 5 GPS sensor fidelity

Post by DomSpeed »

Hi all,

I just bought the LapTimer Petrolhead and I want to know if the fidelity of the iPhone 5 GPS sensor is good enough for reasonable results one karting tracks or if I have to buy an external GPS sensor. What are your experiences?

Thanks

It will work for timing (as long as you mount / wear the iPhone outside with a completely free view to the sky). Data analytics (line driven etc) is difficult without an external GPS. Finally, in case you need to store the iPhone away, an external GPS is required too.
