Ipad Mini + XGPS150 and only GoPro for video?

Post by johan6504 »

Hi
I tried to find info about this but didn't so I am asking...

I want to use my Ipad Mini + XGPS 150, and a GoPro for video. I don't want/cant position the Ipad Mini so that I get video from the Ipad. Instead I would like to integrate the video from a GoPro as main video. Can this be done and if so how? In what way will I be able to create overlays, the data will still be on the GoPro, right?

For handling external videos (GoPro et al), please check the video documentation available here: http://www.gps-laptimer.com/LapTimerDoc ... hapter.pdf In case you want to remote control the GoPro from within LapTimer (automatic operation), you need to upgrade to LapTimer Grand Prix. For manual addition (see documentation) and overlay, LapTimer Petrolhead is fine.

In case you want to opt for the automatic / half automatic solution using Grand Prix, you need to record a video using your iPad mini on top of the GoPro currently. This will change in 17.5 where LapTimer allows background video recording. Currently, you may use the iPad mini to video record the driver ;-) and add this as a Picture in Picture.
