Exporting CSV and Data Logging Speed

Post by Merlinshawn »

I am wondering if I have a setting wrong in the app, when I export the lap as a csv it only shows a line for every second it records. Is this a limit on the app or do I have something wrong? I have played around with another app and it's logging between 5-7 times a second. I am running an OBD2 wifi sensor and its saying the refresh rate is around 6hz.

LapTimer is GPS centric. The GPS update rate defines the rate of storage, OBD is interpolated to this fixes. A higher than GPS OBD update rate gives you more instant refreshs in real time, so it is beneficial despite this limitation. To get higher data update rates stored, you need to opt for one of the available external GPSes (5 to 20 Hz) currently.

Is it possible to change it to use the accelerometer as the centric sensor? I am using it for autocross, I am not really using the GPS, I am looking at geforce, throttle, and rpms.

This would come at a huge price tag ;-) I plan to rework the whole sensor area sometime, including multiple GPSes, arbitrary update rates etc. But don't ask when, planned it for 2013, but will be 2014 at least.
