Setting up MultiCam

I don't seem to be able to get this working. I've got HLTGP on iphone 5 and mulitcam on a 3GS. Bluetooth turned on both devices and multi-cam launched on 3gs. When I switch to video view on the iphone 5 there is no indication of a second cam. When I start recording nothing seems to happen on the 3GS. On the iPHone 5 the status gadget shows a cam icon as the righmost icon and it has a small red cross on it. What am I missing?

The red cross means MultiCam is disabled. Please turn it on using the description above.
