LapTimer turns the cam on in Video View and any view displaying video thumbnails: e.g. Lap Details, Video List. In case it powers the cam on in another view, please let me know.

So am I understanding this behavior is by design? Is the power level in video view use less battery power than regular powered on?

Power consumption increases as follows:
WiFi module only: a lot
WiFi module plus cam ON: even more
WiFi module plus cam ON plus recording: extreme
But again, in case the cam is powered on while e.g. in Timer View (and video background recording disabled) or any other view not showing video thumbnails would be not by design. So to workaround an unwanted power on, stay in a view not showing video.

OK, that's what I'm saying - I'm going to a view with no video and the camera power is staying on

I'm traveling currently and can't test it. Please note the can is not powered down immediately when leaving a video view. It may take anything up to a minute until it disconnects.
I will add it to my list to test when back in the office.

Well, the restore was less than perfect. It looks like all the laps are there but they're not organized correctly (track, date, etc). The good news is I have backups of most everything. The bad news is I hadn't backed up this weekend yet and that's what I really want to retrieve - broke my fastest times at this track. They might be in the restored set but I can't tell. What are the .pdb files? Is there a way I can view them outside of HLT?

No, pdb files are LapTimer's databases and there are no generic tools for them.
Once the data is restored, please run Check Data from Lap List. This will look for inconsistencies and resort records in case they are screwed up.
In case you have submitted your laps to Hall of Fame, I can extract this laps so you can import them. This will be lap times only, no data for analysis / overlay.

I did run the check data - said it was ok. Lap times would be fine but how do you want the data? There are 23 recovery subfolders - I can move it all to one directory and zip up (it's pretty huge)

Oh, sorry, I missed to send instructions: just send your three digit driver ID and the vehicle name. This will allow me to find the laps on their server side. I do. It need the pdb files.
