Comparing Lap data from different days?

Post by Saul_Good »

How do I compare lap data (reference lap vs x-lap) of the same track from different days? Currently I can only look at data of the same track from the same day.

Thanks!

[Moved to "Using LapTimer"]

There are actually two different modes of comparison I need to comment on separately:

Throughout LapTimer, there is a notion of a "reference lap" nearly everything is compared to. This reference lap is usually the best lap for the same track you are performing on or watch a data recording for. The reference lap is used for predictive lap timing as well as in the Charts are of LapTimer's data recording (starting with the Petrolhead edition, Rookie misses that feature). Besides selecting the reference lap as the "best", you can switch to "last" or any particular lap. So if you want to compare your laps or your drive to a specific lap performed on a different track day, simply goto Lap List, select this reference lap, and select the "Reference" function from the Lap Details displayed. This makes this lap the reference lap and will display it for comparison e.g. in the Charts.

In case you refer to the 1 to many comparison provided in the Laps section of data recordings, simply bring up the configuration hover (either press the setting button or tap into the bar chart) and select whatever range you want the multi lap comparison for.

I have a similar question regarding the bar graph showing sector times. Right now LapTimer seems to only use the first lap as the reference lap and then compares lap sector times sequentially (i.e time deltas are calculated based on the previous lap). It took me awhile to figure out how the time deltas were being calculated and I initially thought there was an error.

Is there a way to have laptimer use the currently selected lap as the basis for calculating the sector time deltas (and all sector deltas are based on the current selection rather than sequentially)?

Hope that make sense...

Makes sense, but is not available currently. I add this to the features requested.
