Turning on the video

Post by mousemaster »

I recently upgraded my phone to the Iphone 5S. I tried the app on the last autocross date. I could not get the video to start prior to starting the course. The video button was only available right after I started the course and only available for a few seconds. Obviously one does not want to be playing with the phone one you start driving.

One of the help suggestions states you can turn on this auto start feature in the video section. I cannot find this prompt. Can you help me locate it so the video auto starts on autocrosses?

Secondly, is this the same for large tracks?

Thank you,
Mousemaster

You can tell LapTimer to start and stop video recording in background just like it starts and stops timing. For the full details, please check http://www.gps-laptimer.com/LapTimerDoc ... hapter.pdf and search for the section "Background Video Recording". You will basically change into the Video view (e.g. from Timer), adjust everything as needed and press the "Record Auto" button. This will close the video view but keep the video active (visible in the status bar).

Hello Harry
I have reviewed this page and also re-read the documentation. My links are not active in the documentation file on Adobe.

I am unable to figure out how to switch from the timer mode screen to the video mode screen. Help !

Thank you,

Change to Timer View. Press the blue Video button. Once the Video View comes up, press the Record Auto button. This will close the Video View again but keep the video recording function active.

In summary, I found it.

The blue video button is not visible when using the landscape view of the phone. I flipped it to profile and could see the blue video button. I mount the phone in a window mount cradle in the landscape mode so I never saw it.

Is the video button available in the landscape position?

Thank you.

It is, but there is a tweak: the tab bar shown in the bottom of the screen is hidden after some seconds and reveals the button bar including the Video button. In case you have turned off this "auto hide" feature in LapTimer's Settings, use the grip shown and drag the tab bar down.
