Petrol Head to Grand Prix Edition lost after IOS7 upgrade

Post by goodap »

Hi Harry,

After upgrading to IOS7 my phone has reverted back to a new phone. I can't restore from any of my backups as they say they are corrupted, so resigned to the fact that I needed to start from scratch.

I have re-installed my apps and when I go into Harrys Laptimer it says it's the petrol edition, in the past I have purchased the add on to upgrade to the Grand Prix Version.

Can you tell me how I get the Grand Prix Version installed,as when I click on the Add in is says it will charge me for it, yet I have already purchase it previously.

Cheers

Paul

It says that, but it won't charge you. Or at least that's been my experience. Unfortunately, you need iTunes 11.1 to backup and restore iOS 7 devices and it isn't out yet.

Cool I'll have a go then.

11.1 Came out yesterday and I have that installed still can't restore though. Apple forums indicate a few people have that issue.

Probably a restore created with an older version of iTunes won't work with iOS 7 and iTunes 11.1. Ideally, iTunes 11.1 should have been released before iOS 7.

Oh, wait. A restore won't work once you have upgraded the OS because restore attempts to restore the OS too. Sync might still work, though.
