Post by SOFTCLICK »

I use for motorcycle, is possible to put a blank screen when recording video?

I want to save battery and not call attention of another people when using at night.

Background video recording will be available in a future release (in fact next release). As a workaround you could turn down the brightness of the screen to min. That saves a lot of battery already.

Yes, I'm put the brightness in min, but is difficult in a sunny day to reach Harrys Menus with brightness in min, the ideal is turn down or blank when started.

I saw another topic talking about Android saying about this new feature and is very nice know that the developers are listening the users.

Hi, just a suggestion. If we blank the screen, it will be difficult for us to know if it is recording or dead. Perhaps something like stealth mode where we only have several discrete icon that display in a blank screen to show what it is doing. Also a cross button for us to switch back to normal mode.

LapTimer v17.5 will have an option to record video in background. The request above should be addressed by this.

Hi Harry,

Can you add this feature to MultiCam also?

Yes makes probably sense. However I cannot work too much on multicam currently - so many other topics. I keep that item and will add it once MultiCam gets its next refresh.

Hey Harry, curious if this feature might be available soon? I'm using older 3GS iPhone's as my second and third cameras and would appreciate the ability to background the video on them (older batteries and overheating issues in the summer). No worries if you're busy, just wanted to keep this on your radar, thanks!

Well, background recording has been introduced in v17.5. Since then, you can switch back to the Timer view and will see little indication on the video recording in background.

Sorry, I actually meant in the MultiCam app. I have my newer iPhone running LapTimer and my older iPhone's running MultiCam.
