Re: Problems with video overlays

Hi,

Happy to find out what is going on. Please export the lap using the .hlptrl format. The video is a bit more tricky as an email will most probably not arrive (too large). So you either need to place it on a web or ftp server and send a link. As this operation is most probably not of public interest, please use LapTimer@gmx.de for communication. We will come back here once this is solved.

Update: The problem with the external video was a missing audio track (the video externally produces was video only).

Hello Harry

New to this app, but I find it really amazing. Congratulations !

I've been using it for a few track sessions now without much problems but something strange happend after my last session.

After I synchronised my iphone with my Mac (iphoto/itunes) All the videos from my laps disappeard from my Lap list !

Even the old videos from 15 days ago are no longer in the lap list (but still in the image library)

The videos (overlayed and not overlayed) are in the image library of the iphone, but lap timer can't seem to find them ?

Any way to restore the link between the videos and lap timer ? There is one video I did not have time to overlay..

Any help would be appreciated

Hi,

Videos in the Asset Library (= what the Photo app shows you) have a URL LapTimer uses to link a lap to a specific video. As soon as the video is moved around (e. g. by synchronizing), the connection is lost. To reestablish the connection, navigate to your lap, press the 'Edit' button in the top right, and link to the matching video.

Harry,
I just purchased version 13.4 for used with my iphone 4 and was using it at Nelson Ledges this weekend in conjuction with my GoPro camera. I was not using the iphone for video recording, just laptiming. I was following your posted instructions on how to perform a overlay and got to the sync to photo app in itunes step. When I performed the sync in itunes I received the message that it could not be copied to my iphone because it cannot be played on this iphone. The video is a quicktime file, 155MB, one min 21 sec duration, 1920x1080. Is the file to big to played on my phone? Is there any other way to sync so I can start the overlay?

Thanks

I remeber reading somewhere that the iphone 4 would actually play 1080p files. I'm somewhat guessing here...but I think you'll have to recode your file first with Handbrake or something similar because the overlaying capabilities / the overlay layout of the LapTimer only goes up to 720p, if you want to do the overlay on the iPhone.
If you want to stick to the full 1080p maybe you should take a look at Dashware or Trackvision and do the overlaying on your PC / MAC.

Yes, it seems the iPhone4 is capable of displaying 1080p (although it makes not too much sense with the display) already, but does not allow synchronization so far. We will see what iOS5 brings...

I am running Laptimer Pro v13.4. After filming and recording a lap I pushed the Overlay button. All works good, but the timing on the accellerograph and on the map display is a little off (maybe 5s late). What am I doing wrong?
