Now that the Google Maps app is back will it be possible for HLT to use that in future versions instead of Apple's maps? Will Apple allow this?

Yes, one can always add external maps provided from the net. Question for me if the effort is worth it. Although Apple had a troubled start, they have hundreds of people working to improve it. I'm pretty sure Apple maps will be a perfect product far earlier than I can integrate Google again. Let's watch what happens - I believe it has been a logic move by Apple that will finally benefit us clients mid-term. Competition is up again.

They should probably have thousands working on it. Near me is a public house called the Hayweighs which is listed on Apple maps as "Hayleys Bar". It's not listed on Google maps and rightly so, it's been closed for years. A few yards down the same street is a medical centre that Apple lists as a "Benefits Agency". A few hundred yards away we have listed another pub and a bingo hall. Both demolished years ago. It'll take some fixing.
