Sharing lap data across multiple laptimer instances

Post by flying banana »

Could you consider including the capability to import lap data from another instance of laptimer so that another user's lap can appear in your own list. This is so that individuals can compare their performance with friends by setting the imported lap as the reference lap.

This idea occurred to me after I loaned my iphone to a friend to use the laptimer at a recent trackday, which meant it was possible to compare my speeds, braking and lateral g loads to his, in turn meaning that I could understand how to improve my driving/lines/braking points etc.

A simple "export this lap" button and a mechanism for importing from email/bluetooth/wifi would be really useful.

Thanks for considering this request!

Hi,

That's available already. Export whatever lap set you like (single lap, a whole session, a whole track, everything) to .hlptrl first. You find the export function in the bottom of every Lap Detail view. Run the export on your friend's iPhone and let him/her send the generated email to you. Open this email on your iPhone and long-press the .hlptrl attachment to add this laps to your database.
