Hi
I've had the Palm version for a while and would like to know how to calibrate the G setting. Currently mine is set at .8, which must be the default I guess.
I use version 8 pro for the Palm. Is that the latest version for the Palm?

calibrating G settings and about the Palm version
Hi,
Good to know there are still some PalmOS users out there
As the Palm devices had no accelerometer built in, LapTimer always calculated acceleration from GPS. There has been no need for something like a calibration.
In case I miss your point, please let me know.

Re: calibrating G settings and about the Palm version
Thanks for the replies. I guess my question was whether the G calibration was something that was controlled by the software or whether it was an editable adjustment and you answered that.
I'm surprised that more people don't use the Palm. I don't like the idea of using my real phone in my race car and you can pick a good palm for $50 or so, and a good gps unit for maybe the same. That way I have a dedicated system and I really like the memory card slot.
Will you ever do an Android version?

You are right, that makes a pretty cheap solution. However, functionality more than doubled since 8 and the device capabilities of iOS and Android are by far better. I get my old Treo 650 out of the box from time to time, thinking back to the early times
It is a time of fast change we are living in...
I plan to make a first Android version available next spring.

Re: calibrating G settings and about the Palm version
To continue my questions in this Palm thread and keep it away from all the iPhone users I would like to ask ..
under constants there is a G calibration and it is adjustable, defaulted to .8. Should I adjust it to see what happens???
Also when I look at an output of the course with G shading I get an image with really wide bands. For autocross there is a lot of band overlapping. Is there a way to set the band to a narrower width? Worth a try to ask ..

Hi,
The width / scale of G acceleration is not adjustable (neither on Palm, nor on the iPhone). On the 0.8 you need to send an snapshot. I do not have the Palm version with me currently.
