Good to know that I can apply a reset but it seems only partially useful. Obviously, I will not be able to force a reset if I am in the middle of a lapping session nor would I then be able to confirm the calibration is good. Does the auto-calibration only happen while on track? Or could I somehow calibrate it off the track and keep that calibration while on track?
In general my problem looks like the auto-calibration screwed up while I was on track, and all subsequent laps' data are now useless. Aside from trying to reset the calibration manually while on track, there does not appear to be a solution.

It is not an option to start recalibration on track. Step #1 requires you to stand still and that's hardly the case on a track. And you should not touch LapTimer while driving at all - it is too dangerous. So it is basically making sure step #1 / 2 are o.k. (see above) and drive. In cases it did not work (which should not happen too often), you start over back in the pits and before you start the next session.

Thanks, I understand and will verify my next track day. I assume I am an outlier and most others never need to manually force a reset of the auto-calibration?
On an unrelated note, I saw in other threads where you mentioned that phone calls should be suppressed by the app or at least not interfere with the app. My wife called in the middle of a session and I saw the call appear on my phone while video recording. This resulted in the video from the entire session not saving.
Since you say this has already been addressed, could this possibly be a bug? See the attached screenshot of what such a lap results in. Let me know if you need more info.

That's exactly the known issue with v15 and before. Will be fixed in v16.

The calibration in version 15 doesn't work all that well for autocrossing where you're almost never driving in a straight line and even the starting line may not be level. There's usually an offset in lateral, lineal or both. I can fix it off line later, but not between runs, or at least not yet. What I see as a problem is that if the device goes to standby or is moved at all, it forces a recalibration. It would be really nice if there were a manual calibration mode with the capability of storing and restoring a calibration or at least a mode that forces the calibration to the device axes and then you could orient the device to achieve zero lateral and lineal when the car was stopped on a level surface. I could live with the error from not having the lineal acceleration axis perfectly aligned with the vehicle axis (otherwise known as yaw). There is even a way to fix that, but not if the device recalibrates when it's moved.

As stated above, as long as the "yaw" is not that important for you, steps #1 and #2 are enough - and will get processed when standing in front of the AX. A save / restore of a set of calibration is probably a solution. As I work on a completely different approach for sensor alignment / calibration, I will defer this calibration storing to the point this alternative approach fails. Sorry to be a bit mystic, but I cannot comment more on this topic currently.
