XGPS150 5 Hz update.
Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
I just got the XGPS150 today. got it connected fine.
Noted that it was only 1hz and found the details to update the firmware. Had some problems with the process but got it completed and see the successful message etc.
I can pair it with the 3GS but now Harry's wont see it as gps device - did I miss something?
UPDATE - OK solved my own problem 30 seconds after posting. I had left the xGPS150 at the "other" setting - flicked it back to iphone mode and working just perfect at 4.8HZ

And what were those problems? Mine is updating for 20 minutes now and it's still not ready. I tried several times but no result.sunzout wrote:I just got the XGPS150 today. got it connected fine.

Edit: Problem solved.
It was sending on com3 while the GPS was connected to com14. I changed the com port to com2 wich was free. Reconnected, tried again and this time it worked!
5Hz, here we go!
Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
The dual website is currently down, anywhere else I can download the 5Hz update?
Thanks,
Alvin

Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
I've just ordered a Dual GPS myself. Hope I'll get it on Friday as I'll be lapping around the Nürburgring on Sunday
. But from what I understand I should update my firmware to get the 5Hz mode?

Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
Just got my XGPS150 delivered and updated to 5Hz. Instructions are nice and clear so no problems. Can't wait for the next track day

Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
First: I would like to say Thank you to Harry...this is one fantastic Ap
And thanks for V16, I will be using that and the OBD II feature.
Next: the Dual, while it seems to be very nice, they has lousy software. I tried the 5 hz update for 2 hours last night on my Vista computer and it screwed it up and continually gave errors. I was very disappointed...have a track day in a week.
My wife, however, has a very lowly XP netbook computer. Having read this thread several times, I thought, try the XP machine.
Well, 3 minutes later it was done. Now I am going to trade in my dual core, 2.3 mhz monster laptop and use her computer from now on
...Well, not really. I just wish that Dual would fix their software to work on Vista reliably. What it appeared to be is the firmware updater saw the Dual on COM3 BUT the computer saw it on COM 8 or 7 or what ever else it decided it was plugged into; it changed every time I tried to update it. The XP computer saw it on COM 3 as did the updater, problem solved. I hope this helps whoever is next.
As for Harry's and Dual...The Dual linked with my iPhone like it was there all of the time. Fantastic (I am new at this smart phone thing, my last one had a hand crank on it
). I took it outside, under the stars and after a while it found 9 satellites and Harry's said that the accuracy was 10ft. However, I did notice that the Hz dropped a little as it pickup additional satellites. It started at about 4.8 with 7 satellites and dropped to 4.5 with 9. Still much better than the 1 or less that I was getting for the iPhone.
Thanks, again, Harry

Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
Hi,
Does anybody have harry's laptimer and the 5Ghz data working correctly with something like circuit tools? I am interested in using the dual xpgs150 in order to increase the accuracy so I can see driven track etc.
I have tried exporting the data as it currently is (latest version) and circuit tools doesn't seem to like the 1Ghz data.
Thanks

Re: XGPS150 5 Hz update.
v16 interpolates the 1Hz data up to 10Hz and CT should work fine with it. I use the Dual XGPS150 at 5Hz and have no problems with the exportes vbo in CT.dg8123 wrote:Hi,
