To teach myself a new tool, I uploaded the model to an online simulator called Simscale. I designed a 200G accident scenario to see if the mount would survive without breaking and turning the GPS unit into a projectile inside the car. The material is quite strong, and according to the simulation, it would survive such an accident. 200G is nuts, by the way. It's about the most a human can survive, and significantly more than a typical (well, hopefully not typical, but you get the point
) track day accident, which would likely be 50G - 100G.
