Overlays not working

Post by usbman23 »

Hi I have tried multiple times to try to get the overlay to work using a go pro. It says that the overlay is complete and I can view it either it in HLT or my photo roll. The new video is in my camera roll but there’s no overlay I can replay the video in HLT the video does play but with no overlay. I have an iPhone 8 GoPro hero seven black. Thanks for your help

Yes, this is a frequent issue lately:

The HERO8 is using a pixel layout which is not fully supported by iOS. Videos can be played, but decoding / changing / encoding frames has no effect.

I got a report HERO8 videos can be used after fully resetting the cam and not changing any resolution or fps parameters.

To be precise, an incompatibility between a pixel format the H8 uses and the way LapTimer uses iOS system services. I had updated the Known Problems FAQ a few days ago: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=1693
