When I got home from the track tonight and went to overlay the first lap HLT hung. I thought the overlay worked as previously so deleted the Photo Library entry and went to run again. Now instead of overlaying the data on the video it appears that the Lap List believes the video is no longer available - and we know from your documentation it is! How can the link be re-established between the lap data and the appropriate video times?

Turns out I'd used about all the memory in my 64G iPhone 4S. How can one backup an entire session's raw video? Restore it? One could then free up a lot of memory by working on getting the best laps overlaying video and data on a per track session basis. I'd also like to be able to see the deleted overlay lap, even if the overlay of data didn't occur, as well as the entire session at one time. Thank you.

And it would be good to be able to produce different versions of the video depending on the information you want displayed. By allowing only one overlay this cannot be done - even thought the video is still on the phone?

Navigate to Lap List and drill down to the lap in scope. Press 'Edit' to get the 'Add video' button and relink whatever video you like.

Indeed, you can drive yourself into a kind of 'near-deadlock' currently. As the raw videos are not 'moved' to the desktop (like they were in LT 14.x) but instead 'backuped/copied' only, free memory is critical. I'd suggest to free up enough space elsewhere for the overlaid video snippets (NB: you need at least double the size of the overlaid vid, otherwise processing to the Photo lib one by one will not work). Once you have freed up enough memory, overlay / synchronize laps one by one, at least those you want to keep. Finally either check you can extract the full raw video from the iTunes backup (there are tools around), or copy it to your desktop using the free iExplorer tool. The raw videos are located in LapTimer's Documents folder on the iPhone (extension .mov).

On the overall concept I thought I leave it to the user to manager this. Otherwise I'd need to stop recording video much earlier and limit the overall video time and keep space for later disposition.

Thank you. Thought I'd lost access to the lap.

In the Video Details for a lap can you help me to understand what the 'X Move' button will do? Can the session's video be transferred off the iPhone with this? Thank you.

The X is actually not correct, will change this in the next major version. X es in general signal 'deletion' which is not the case here. What 'X Move' actually does is moving the video stored in LapTimer's documents to the Photo Library. Please note this is actually a copy + delete source process and requires enough free memory to work.

Do I really need to play with the slider on Video Sync setting to somehow find the one frame at the end of that lap to restore the link?

Yes, currently you need to find the sync point yourself. I have a feature request on my list to both store the original link and to add some metadata to the videos to make this more reliant.

When I edit a lap's video details there are only 3 sessions for Saturday when the Lap list shows that 4 sessions were recorded. Any idea where that session may have gone and why there would be video associated with the laps in that session?

Used to be I'd come home and enjoy video from my Kodak Zi8 right away using iMovie to get the lap times. Then HLT 14.x gave me video with an accurate traction circle and I could do the same very easily. So far I see no end in sight where I might be able to enjoy and share my experience with HLT 15.x and it is frustrating.

What is missing? The video or lap times? From what I understand you have 4 sessions (I assume made up from several laps each) and 3 raw videos? The relinking is cumbersome but should not be necessary usually. Maybe I should limit memory use more and set an earlier stop... In case you are missing a video (see assumption above), missing memory can easily be the issue.

There were four sessions recorded 21Apr and three on 22Apr. In Lap Details-Edit-Video there are only three sessions for each day, except the first morning session each day, all about 20-22 minutes and 3.1-3.3 GB in size. There are two laps from the morning session on 21Apr I would like to keep with an overlay and I cannot find them.

The end of the session recordings on the 22nd align with the end of the lap list absolute times however the lap times from the 21st do not correspond to the session recording end time for that days sessions.

I've raised an issue with the calibration elsewhere although it appears the 22Apr sessions have good data where the 21Apr laps do not. It may be related, I don't know.

Memory is not an issue so far as this is a 64 GB iPhone 4GS with 30 GB of free memory and I am monitoring that closely. Thank you.
