Problem linking a video to a series of laps
I've gone through the steps to copy the video of the laps run by a professional racer in my car through itunes on my desktop computer. Apparently, there were no issues getting to this point (no error messages, anyway). So, I'm at these steps in the process:
8. Select Analysis/Lap list, and select any lap from the session from which the GoPro video recording was made
9. Click on the icon of the video camera, which will bring up a screen called “Video Details”
10. Scroll to the bottom and press “Re-link”
But the icon of the video camera displays a giant NO to the left of the camera icon. When I press on the icon anyway to bring up the video details screen, and press re-link, a window pops up stating, "Videos stored locally in LapTimer's sandbox. Footage you record will be stored here initially. Do housekeeping from here." When I select the "Housekeeping" link just below this statement, I get another dialog box that says, "No videos found qualifying for housekeeping." And below the Housekeeping link, there's s statement that says, "Videos in iCloud get transferred automatically to LapTImer's recordings currently. You can change that behavior in Settings."
What does all this mean? I tried going through the procedure again to drag the video into the appropriate folder in Laptimer in the Apps section of iTunes, but that didn't help. What should I do now? Thanks.

Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
When selecting the Re-Link button (you are on the correct path up to this point), the list of all videos available is displayed. It is actually the same list as Video List available from the tiled pages. The difference is, it is in selection mode. So to complete the Re-Link, select any video (row) to re-link the lap you are coming from to the video selected.
Housekeep simply offers a deletion of videos not used by any lap any more. These videos will be marked with a red exclamation sign.

Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
I'm sorry - I re-read your answer at least ten times, but I'm not following what I need to do to link the video of the pro racers lap in my car to the video recording of that lap. Are you saying I shouldn't press the re-link button (very lower right-hand corner of the screen that contains the lap info)? Under the large video icon (which now has a large "NO" next to the image of the camera), there's a section titled "LAPTIMER INTEGRATION". The very first selection in this section is labeled "Type", which has next to it an icon of a video camera. Beneath that is a row labeled "Link", which has next to it the the name I gave the GoPro video when I saved it to my desktop computer. When I tap on the first row (the one labeled Type), I get an ominous looking warning, asking me if I'm sure I want to override the overlay type of this video, and that this operation is for maintenance only. Then it says, "To overlay a video, select a lap from the lap list and press the 'Overlay' button you find below the video preview". When I press the row labeled 'Link', nothing happens.
But there is no 'Overlay' button beneath the video preview - the only choices are 'Play' and 'Export'. When I choose 'Play', I get a message that an unknown error has occurred, and when I select 'Export', it brings up a message titled 'Overlay Configuration', beneath which is says 'Invalid master video' in red.
So, I'm pretty much lost. The video is definitely good - I can play it on my desktop, and its quality is excellent, and the lap's data looks perfectly normal - I'm just not able to link them yet. Thanks.

Please see the detailed description in http://www.gps-laptimer.com/LapTimerDoc ... hapter.pdf. Search for "Associate Video Transferred with Laps" to find the section with the step by step.

Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
Yes, not only have I followed the procedure in the documentation, I even created my own set of instructions to clarify a few of the steps which had confused me earlier. Here is the step-by-step procedure I followed. Please let me know if I got any of the steps wrong:
Syncing the Video With the Data:
1. Download the video from the session to a desktop computer
2. On the desktop, open the iTunes App
3. Plug the ipad into the computer with the Lightening-to-USB cord
4. Within iTunes on the desktop, double-click on the iPad icon near the top of the screen, and select Aps
5. Scroll down (not in screen view initially) and find File Sharing/Aps, then select Harry’s Laptimer
6. Drag the video file to the folder that contains the list of HLT files on the right side of the screen. Do not select or open any of the files in this folder.
7. Disconnect the iPad from the computer, and open the HLT App
8. Select Analysis/Lap list, and select any lap from the session from which the GoPro video recording was made
9. Click on the large icon of the video camera, which will bring up a screen called “Video Details”
10. Scroll to the bottom and press “Re-link”
11. Select the video from the video list shown
12. To export a specific lap or series of laps, select the lap from the lap list, and select “Export” beneath the video that’s displayed. This moves the video to the Photo App, where it can be viewed in full screen mode. This also allows the video to be uploaded to youtube by selecting the “Share” link on the right side of the screen.
I have successfully used this procedure in the past, but for some reason it isn't working for this particular lap and video the pro racer ran in my car. Please let me know which steps I either need to modify to deal with the errors I'm getting. Thanks.

Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
The steps are fine. The Overlay button has been removed and is replaced by Play and Export now. Play = real time overlay and Export = as "Overlay" formerly, a new video including overlays is generated.
Please make sure your video is using one of the standard video formats listed in the Video Documentation. From your description, I assume the video file transferred is either corrupted or it is using an unsupported format.

Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
The video file type is MP4. The only thing that's different about it vs other video files I have successfully linked is that I renamed this file so I could easily find it in the future. I named it "Scott, 31 psi Nittos". Do you think that could be the problem? i.e., are either the spaces or the comma causing a problem? I'll rename it with the comma and spaces replaced by underscores and see if that helps.
Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
Spaces didn't work for older versions, but this should be fixed. The comma might be another issue. Please try the renaming - you can do this from iTunes File Sharing.

Re: Problem linking a video to a series of laps
I renamed the video, both on my desktop and in iTunes, and repeated steps 8 and 9. In the LAPTIMER INTEGRATION section below the large camera icon (which still has a large NO to the left of the camera), it still shows the name of the video in the second row (the one labeled 'Link') in the old format, with the comma and spaces. I then copied the video from my desktop into itunes again (it asked me if I wanted to replace the existing copy, so I said yes), but this didn't change anything. Here are the file properties listed in the Video Details table:
Date: Unknown
Time: Unknown
Duration: Unknown
Source: LapTimer Recordings
Location: Local
Size: Unknown
LAPTIMER INTEGRATION
Type: Raw (with an image of a camera icon to the right of the word "Raw")
Link: Scott, 31 psi Nittos.MP4
PiP Name: please set
Metadata: None
Does anything here give you any clues? I suspect that way I named the file is somehow the culprit, and for some reason the old naming (with the comma and spaces) is still showing up. Is there a way to delete this version of the video and replace with the newly-named one?
Also, when I select the ? under the word 'Preview' next to the Laptimer Recordings box, I get a message that says
"The video originally linked with this lap cannot be found. Two frequent reasons for a situation like this are 1) the video has been synced to your desktop and has been deleted from your device, and 2) the video has been deleted from your Video List accidentally."
When I select 'Video List' from withing Analysis, and select the camera icon under GOPRO HERO4, it highlights momentarily, but then nothing happens. Below that, it shows two older videos, but not the one I'm trying to link.
