Lost all my lap timer data - Petrolhead

Post by track addict »

Hey everyone,

i just got a new iPhone 5s and checked to see how everything transferred over and noticed I don't have any of my laps or data in HLT. Any way that I can recover the data or is it lost? Thanks!

Please read about options to transfer your data from one device to another here: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3341

So this method only works if I export all of my data from my previous phone? I may be out of luck as I no longer have the phone and had to wipe it clean before I sent it back.

I'm boned aren't I?

Yes, kind of. In case you had turned on online functions (lap submission to hall of fame), I can reconstruct a lap list from the server data. But it is just a lap list, the detailed data recordings (GPS+OBD+acceleration) are not stored by LapTimer Server.

To extract your lap list, please send you 3-digit driver id and the precise vehicle name.

Harry,

Have you considered adding an option of cloud based backup for users? Transferring data from one phone to another can be cumbersome and some users just don't bother to go through that, whilst losing track, session data, instead have a login/password for the LapTimer and sync the data from external storage.

Yes, but I'm not yet sure on the technology to use. When adding such a feature, I need to make it platform independent - which includes both iOS and Android.
