export video with overlay freezes (or runs extremaly slow)

Help on issues you run into with LapTimer; in case you have a question on how to use LapTimer, use the forum "Using LapTimer" instead

export video with overlay freezes (or runs extremaly slow)

Post by greesha »

Android
Samsung galaxy s5
Grandprix edition
When I press export after syncing everything phone appears to work very slowly.

Please wait appears and can be seen for few minutes. Eventually Overlay configuration will load up after a long waiting time but then the problems continue. When i change any setting on that screen it takes longer and longer for the phone to respond and eventually freezes completely. A notification pops up many times saying that harrys laptimer has frozen and if i want to close it or wait.

Please look into this. I used overlay export back in May and everything was fine even in a session that had 20+ laps. This one has only 4.

Thanks

When overlaying using "Export" (instead of using Real Time Overlaying by pressing "Play"), the length overlaying process is started. This process requires a lot of computing power and will make any other operation very slow. The process must not be disturbed either. If e.g. you press the Home button while an overlay is going on, the app will be sent to background and the progress dialog will be removed from the screen. The process however is still ongoing and consuming time like before. In case you start another overlay now, things get worse.

This is just one idea, the effect may be triggered by other using patterns too. To verify, please shut down the phone completely and start the export again. Once the overlay has started, do not touch the device until it has finished. In case you get the dialog asking whether to wait or close, select wait.
