Can't export any files or data

Post by aaronc7 »

I can't export .csv lap data or any other file for that matter. I typically upload to Google Drive or email to myself. Drive fails and email there is no attachment.

I also tried a obd log trace file with same results.. no email attachment.

Verizon Galaxy S7 latest HLT version downloaded today. It also did this on last version. Did an app clear data and it did not resolve this issue.

Which mail client do you use? And are all permissions are granted to the app? For the later, please have a look into Settings app and follow the Apps item.

Yep, it was a permissions issue. I did a clean wipe on the app and did the process again-- the app never requests for storage permissions. I had to go into the application manager, open up the LapTimer details, and manually allow storage permissions. All other permissions (locations, camera, etc.) were requested in the app directly. So maybe if nothing else, a little bug report that the app is not requesting storage permissions. I'm positive it did on older versions, but I can't say for sure at what point it stopped.

Also, I am having issues with OBD staying connected/above 0hz.... so expect a log to your email on that soon.

Yes, up to Android 6 all permissions were granted during install. It is hard to find all functions requiring permission requests and it seems I missed this one. Thanks for reporting.
