I was thinking about a new timer view, with time fields only.
Here it is :

It is a gap view.
We are in lap 3, we already have won 3.32 seconds (L3 and minus sign in green), and we are still winning (green up arrow).
Sector 1 is finished, we lost 5.37 seconds in it. We are then in sector 2.
The reference lap is the (A)bsolute best last, which is 01:58.56.
A is the type of reference lap. Here it means (A)bsolute, we could also have (L)ast, (F)ixed, (S)ession, (D)ay, (W)E (see this).
[L/G/S] is a new smaller button which toggles between Lap/Gap/Sector views.
Only the absolutely needed button should be kept to save space.
In addition, regarding buttons, once you have put your gloves, they are quite useless

We could then think about keeping the 3 buttons layout for [L/G/S], at the top left, making them disappear once session starts (start line is crossed).
Same thing for the alert button, we could have an option to hide it, leaving only the cancel button (which we can use once gloves removed

Other state of the same view, when we cross the line :

OK, here we are in lap 4, we already lost 0.22 second (L4 and plus sign in red), and we are still loosing (red down arrow).
This predictive info is still refreshing when we cross the line, it is not replaced by anything.
As we have just crossed the line, lap 3 details are displayed for 10 seconds at the top of the view.
We have won 2.17 seconds in lap 3, this is why the watch is green. It would have been red if we would have lost time.
We have lost time in sector 1 of lap 3 (as seen in the previous view), we have won time in the second sector (how many was displayed during sector 3), and in sector 3 we won 3.12 seconds.
As we won time in lap 3, the new reference lap (bottom left) has been updated.
This view is quite complete, with timing info only.
Buttons have been reduced to save some space, this help making other fields (sector squares, other times...) bigger.
The green/red arrow in place of the street design makes things readable more quickly, in addition to the big green/red minus/plus sign, and lap number.
Harry, what do you think about implementing such a view ?
Comments are welcome !
Thank you very much !
