Hello!
Just curious if anyone could help. We are going to have a small local autocross and I was curious if it was feasible to have one gps unit and camera setup running the app that we could switch between cars at the start of th autocross. Timing equipment is so expensive and we is might be a viable alternative to the standard timing setup.
That's? Is this feasible?
Thanks in advance!
J.
Can lap timer be used for multiple autocross drivers?
Re: Can lap timer be used for multiple autocross drivers?
You can switch LapTimer and equipment between cars as required (but certainly for one car at a time only
). I recommend to setup individual cars for each driver, something like "car A driver B", "car A driver C", "car B driver D" to allow driver recognition later: the car selected currently, is saved as a lap attribute for each lap. Switch the car (Status) once you switch drivers.

I've seen class wins determined by differences of a few thousandths of a second. HLT is not good enough for that.

Yes, no GPS based system is able to deliver this accuracy. This is transponder only. For more information, check viewtopic.php?f=39&t=3479 In general, any serious competition with prices to win etc. will need a transponder based system.
However, I didn't see this as a requirement by the TS.

We use lights rather than transponders as it's one car at a time and the start and finish line move around from event to event. I'd go with manual watches if an automatic timing system is off the board.might be a viable alternative to the standard timing setup
