Merging/Creating Videos using both the Iphone and Hero 3
I just purchased the Grand Prix edition. It is a little overwhelming but im sure over time it will become second nature. I bought your app because im doing a track day on the 7th of September and would like the have footage with the lap times overlays on the Video. I have figured out how to record using the Bluetooth feature in the app, with it starting and stopping my Gopro. That part was simple. Now where im stuck is how do i get the video from my phone and from the gopro and put it all together? is there a program that i need? is there a special way to export the video and overlay from my phone ? I need you help!

Hi,
The process is to transfer footage from the HERO to your smartphone, assign it to laps, and to overlay it on the smartphone using LapTimer. A detailed description of individual steps and options are described in LapTimer's Video Documentation available from www.gps-laptimer.de/documentation

Harry,
I've got a related scenario. I had the Petrol Head version of Laptimer and I used it to record some sessions on the weekend. Separately, I used my GoPro to record video. I've trimmed the video down to the lap I'm interested in (my best one, of course!) and now I'd like to make an overlay of that video back in Laptimer.
I've upgraded to the Grand Prix edition of Laptimer but I don't see a way of getting the video into Laptimer. I put it locally on my phone (via iPhoto sync) and I also put it into Photos on my Mac and I see it's now in Photos on my iPhone. However, when I edit the lap and tap Add Video, I don't see my video or a way to add it.
Any suggestions? Now that I have the Grand Prix version, I probably won't have this issue again but it would be nice to make an overlay of the video and data I already have.
Thanks,
Fergus

Videos in Photos are at the bottom of the list in Add Video. It's easier to transfer directly to the app using iTunes data transfer. Go to apps, scroll down to the bottom and select HLT. Then just drag and drop your video into the folder. The the video will be nearer the top of the list. If you know the exact time length of the video, it can be easier to find.
