No throttle or RPM overlay information

Post by FergusH »

Hi,

I'm a new user, so my apologies if this has already been covered; I searched the forum but didn't find what I was looking for.

I'm using LapTimer with an iPhone 6, an Automatic OBD-II port, and a SkyPro XGPS160 connected to a 2015 Porsche Cayman. I did my first test today and I noticed that I'm not getting throttle or RPM information in the overlay. It looks like this:

(This is from a friend's car, a Boxster 981.)

If I go to another OBD-II app on my iPhone, I do see throttle and RPM information, so I'm not sure why the information is not appearing in LapTimer. Also, I've seen other videos on YouTube (https://youtu.be/TDmMV6z3478, for example) where the info is visible in LapTimer.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

No throttle or RPM overlay information

Two potential reasons for this: there has been a problem with OBD connection for your test drive and there is simply not OBD data available. This will hide the gauges. Check if the lap overlaid has OBD data available by selecting it from Lap List. Scroll down to the Data Recording area and check the Fixes row. In case OBD is shown, the connection worked, in case you see GPS, ACCEL only, there has been a connection issue.

The second potential reason is you have turned off OBD overlays. Bring up the Overlay Configuration dialog by selecting Revert and then Overlay from your lap's detail view. Swipe to the second page of this dialog and find the OBD selector in the bottom. Make sure You have not selected None.
