Export Vid Overlay Over 1 Session not 1 lap

Post by Foxglove »

Hello,
I bought and used Grand Prix Edition v19.0.8 for the iphone during last weekend's racing at COTA. I also used a OBDII bluetooth connection from my car and it appears like everything recorded very well (first time used).

I have a question though - how do I export (with overlay) a whole day or a session instead of just 1 lap at a time?

Also, is there a way I can save out the raw videos to transfer to my computer for storage and also still overlay later? (e.g. I want to save the videos to my computer for save keeping, but also do various overlays and exports before I delete the videos from the phone to free up the space for the next race).

Thank you,
Fox

Hi,

When selecting one lap and following "Overlay", LapTimer will present "Overlay Configuration". You can extend the range of laps from the lap selected up to a complete session. The range is set by touching the left and right most laps, not by a dragging gesture.

Swapping videos in and out depends on the platform. For iOS, connect you iPhone to your desktop and start iTunes. Select the iPhone and follow iPhone ‣ Apps ‣ File Sharing ‣ LapTimer. Here, you can drag in and out files with extension .mov Take care to no change other files. For Android, you will typically work with a SD card.

More information on video and file handling is available in LapTimer's Video Documentation available here: http://www.gps-laptimer.de/documentation

Hi Harry,

Thank you very much. I couldn't figure out how to select the other laps! That worked perfectly.

The iTunes transfer however didn't work at all. Not sure what's going on there, but I'm upgrading to the latest version of itunes to see if that helps.

thanks!

Please come back in case you can't get it working. I assume you need a recent iTunes, and please make sure you have the latest LapTimer version installed too.

Hi Harry,

Sorry for the slow response. After updating Itunes I was able to get them all transferred. Thank you! One more quick question - does this mean that I can now delete the video files somehow from my iphone to free up space? I am running out of space quickly on the iphone, even with a 32gb iphone. Since i have the video files on my computer now, Is it possible to delete them from the phone and still have the ability to re-overlay them later with the harry's laptimer data?

Thank you!

Yes, as long as you keep the filenames, you can swap video files between phone and desktop as required.
