Save partial lap data and transferring data.

Post by MacBandit »

I would really like an option to save partial lap data.

I discovered a situation (unfortunately) this past weekend that got me thinking that this data is actually useful. In the event of a crash you will often be taken off the track through an access road. It would be nice to have an option to stop the lap but save the existing partial lap data to overlay on the crash video. I realize you could save a stop trigger but you never know where the vehicle is going immediately afterwards and it could be hours before it's returned to pits. If there was an option when you hit cancel or a permanent setting then you wouldn't need to have hours of data logging going on while the vehicle is off track.

Another issue I'm having is that I use my old phone for data logging but later use my new larger faster phone for review and data logging. If it's one day then it's easy to send the track data over to the new phone. If it's two days or more then the only option is to send each lap individually to the other phone which in my experience took about a half our of button pressing.

Hi,

That's filed as a feature request already (should be in the Feature Requests Forum). I plan to store incomplete recordings in a special section tomboy mix them with regular laps (e.g. it must not be compared or used as a reference lap).

To transfer an older track day, select any lap from this track day. Instead of using device 2 device transfer, use the export function and send the mail generated to an account accessible on your new phone. Here, touch the hlptrl attachment in mail and select LapTimer for import. In Export you have scope options like lap's track day, track days, and others - relative to the lap selected.
