Problem with Exported Lap Data

Post by spacemonkey1112 »

Hello!

Thank you for your help in advance. I recently visited Buttonwillow this past weekend and recorded all my lap data using this app. All of the lap data was capture very well in app.

I was able to export the data to my email address so that I can overlay it onto my captured gopro footage using Race Render 3. My first session exported flawlessly I believe (I will need to review the video fully). However for my last session (the session I also set my personal best lap), the exported data messed up. When exporting the session, the app knew 8 laps were being exported. But only 6 show up in my video overlay. Also, 2 of the laps in the video overlay seem to have merged into 1 and and says that I did a lap in 4 minutes. On average, each lap for me was around 2:15 seconds. Ironically, this screw up happens on the lap I set my personal best!

No 4 minute lap was ever recorded in the app, so I'm pretty confused as to why this appears in the video overlay when I import the .gpx file into race render.

I hope you can help me with this! Thanks again!

Hi,

RR is not a supported product - I cannot help too much here. When exporting data to .gpx, LapTimer generates a continuous stream of positions, just like a logger does. It is up the the renderer to convert the stream into individual laps.

The prime product to overlay video is LapTimer itself (Petrolhead and GrandPrix). The two desktop renders I exchange data formats regularly are TrackVision and DashWare. I cannot comment too much on these applications either, but at least the format (CSV) is verified. None of these products are MacOS applications but need to be executed in a virtual Windows environment.
