Just Purchased Petrolhead and No Video Capability

Post by 7plymaple »

Hi I just purchased Petrolhead and installed on my galaxy S3 today. In the guide screen at the top is a picture of a camera with a red X on it. When I tap it the system status pops up. So I tap the box that says "Video?" and get the message saying I need to press the video button in the timer view. But in the timer view there is no video button.

I thought maybe the galaxy S3 is to old for this app to work on it. So I tried putting the app on my galaxy tab S. But Google Play will not allow me to even purchase it on my galaxy tab S. And on the Tab S google play does not acnowledge that I have even purchased it at all. Each time I try I get an email saying my payment has been refunded.

Please advise.

Thanks.

I'd suggest to check the order status in PlayStore first. In case you have requested a refund, LapTimer will stop working - even if installed already ;-)

The S3 is fine - although kind of the lower end of devices supported. In LapTimer Petrolhead, please press the Drive button on the startup screen and find yourself in Timer View. Turn the device to landscape to allow video recording. You should see a big blue Video button in the bottom of the screen. Afterwards, please stay in Video View to get both data and video recordings.

Hi Harry,

Thanks so much for the fast response. Yes turning my phone 90 degrees to use landscape mode revealed the video button. And after re-starting my tablet then going back to the play store I was able to install it without being asked to pay again.

So for the Petrolhead edition can you put the overlay onto video from a gopro? I have not been able to figure out how to get other video files into the app if it is possible.

Thanks.

Great!

To overlay GoPro footage, follow this steps:

1) record a session video manually
2) use HD or FullHD and take care the video is 2GB or less
3) copy the video file to the smartphone's SD card, use the folder listed first in LapTimer's video list
4) select any lap from Lap List covered by the video
5) press +VIDEO and select the video
6) follow the instructions to align the lap and video
7) back in Lap Details, press Overlay
