During racing, I pipe the bluetooth audio output from my tablet to my helmet. I primarily do this to get warnings from Torque for over temp on coolant or oil pressure loss, etc. Since Harry's doesn't support either logging these parameters or providing warnings, I'd like to run Torque in parallel with Harry's. My tablet supports multi-window (galaxy tab s 8.4) and Torque supports this feature as well, but Harry's does not - it does not come up with the option. I know I could root the tablet to force any app to do this, but I'd like to avoid having to do and deal with the resulting stability issues.
Alternatively, it would be even more awesome if Harry's allowed for capturing user-selectable PIDs and provided ability to turn on audio and visual warnings if specified limits are tripped.
Multi-window enable and/or OBD parameter warning
Re: Multi-window enable and/or OBD parameter warning
Hi,
I cannot commit on supporting this feature (Tablet optimization) any time soon. Oil and coolant temperatures are recorded by LapTimer already, but warnings are visual only.

Yeah, I had to set up oil pressure as a manually defined PID in Torque - it was a bit of a pain.
Didn't know I could get warning in Harry's on coolant temp (even visual) - clearly I didn't read the whole manual...Thanks. Customizable audio warnings would be really cool though.

The temperature gadgets (check the cycling fields on the OBD II page: http://www.gps-laptimer.de/OBD_II.html) are colored depending on typical warning / error temperatures for oil and coolant fluids. In the extended OBD video overlay, the temperature gadgets has a red region (small).

How have you configured the oil pressure in Torque?

Re: Multi-window enable and/or OBD parameter warning
Torque added the LS2 engine (GM) direct PID readout. I'm not sure what the PID number for that was because that one just showed up.
I talked to some porsche guys at the last track event and they're logging it through torque as well...they had to set those up as custom PIDs though. They pointed me to the a lookup table for their engines (Boxter S) and they were in the P1161-P1164 range.

I never got my hands on these custom PID lists...

Re: Multi-window enable and/or OBD parameter warning
That's because they're usually proprietary and cost somebody money. There's a mode 22 PID for my car that gets the individual wheel speeds from the ABS module. That information would be nice to have to see if the clutches in the limited slip differential are worn out. But I'm pretty sure I couldn't get that data and rpm and throttle at several Hz because of the overhead from mode switching.Harry wrote:I never got my hands on these custom PID lists...
