Split continuous file into laps

Post by Merlinshawn »

I had issues loading the track while at a track day. So I started each session in classic mode. I have figured out how to get into the xml file to edit it and load Google Earth to find the GPS points near the start and finish line. But does anybod have any tips on splitting the file up into individual laps, like what to change and what points to keep around the start and finish line?

There is no automated way to do that with LapTimer. Next time - if you are missing an Internet connection to load a track, just try the "New Track" assistant. It is pretty easy to set up automated timing using it. For your existing recording, you may try an export to VBO and open it in Circuit Tools 2 (check for the free download on the Internet). CT2 splits logger input into laps "after the fact" - this at least makes your lap times available.
