This is a great new book by Michael Krumm on race driving technique. One of its most important points is that braking is the least understood and the often the most important skill to going fast.

With an OBD connection and the brake timing data it provides, you have the raw data to help drivers better understand how much time they are loosing/gaining by when and how hard they brake.

This is one of the first driving books that illustrates its techniques with actual data logs. I'm sure that you will find this book a great source of ideas for new LapTimer features. You might want to correspond with Michael. He might find it interesting to see some of his coaching ideas realized in LapTimer.

Skip Barbers book Going Faster also covers it well.
I don't think that HLT will log brake pressure from OBD. Could be wrong though! Usually am!

Brake info is not standardized in OBD II. However, negative lateral acceleration should do the job. Braking is indeed one of the topics almost all amateur racers are too shy.
