Lost overlay video

Post by Bobl36 »

I haven't used HLT for a while. But after a recent track day I tried to overlay my video overnight. Now the video is gone, no camera icon, but there is audio. I ,"reverted" and the raw video came back. The same thing happened again at the next Autocross.
I am using Grand Prix, I must have done something wrong...help.

Which smartphone do you use and has the original video been recorded with the smartphone cam?

In regard to my Lost Video Post, I am using a Google Android Pixel. Yes, recording was done on the phone.

So I understand the overlaid video does. It come with a valid video frame while audio works. This will be due to encoder/decoder incompatibility. For Android, LapTimer has two options selectable in Expert Settings.
  • using hardware encoding: faster, lower quality, will fail for smartphone with unexpected frame layout
  • Using software encoding: slower, higher quality, should work for all devices
So please revert to the original video first and check Expert Settings to use software encoding / not hardware encoding. I can’t name the precise item names, I’m traveling without Android currently. :-) Rerun the export afterwards.
